Thanks to your generosity Grace & Light was able to feed destitute households in Jos during June.

Fifty households in and around our Jos headquarters received essential foodstuffs during June, following your response to our May appeal, as well as a gift from one of our partner trusts.

Each family received a bag containing rice, corn, sugar, gari (cassava), beans and Maggi seasoning to last a week and were able to return for a second bag.

They were also counselled by Grace & Light volunteers to understand how they are coping during lockdown and other support they may need. Counsellors were able to share the good news of Christ and pray for many of the people. Queues formed when they heard we had more food to distribute.

These are both Christian and Muslim families living on low daily wages. They are not able to work during lockdown and so have no money coming into their home.

They rely on Grace & Light, along with what their neighbours are able to spare. When we are unable to help they may go without food for many days.

With lockdown continuing, we want to continue providing essential food so these 50 families do not starve.
