Treasure hunting in the bush

Treasure hunting in the bush

January 2013

Searching for ingenious hiding places, sharing experiences and strengthening friendships, are the abiding memories of Grace & Light’s annual picnic.

This year volunteers, staff members and trustees met in the village of Mistali and walked through the bush to Gurum three kilometres away.

As they walked every so often they came across notes instructing them to hunt for drinks and snacks to keep them going.

“They were well hidden and sometimes we were tempted to give up,” said Grace & Light international coordinator Tassi Ghata.

After a rest in Gurum village everyone walked back again to a Nigerian feast of chicken and rice, salad, fruit and drinks.

“We spent the afternoon together sharing our testimonies, what the Lord has done for us and delivered us from, and singing Christian songs, plus we had more games.”
