Church visits during February 2013

During February not only did Grace & Light volunteers visit churches across Nigeria, they also spoke at the annual conference of Lutheran churches in Adamawa State, testing 390 people in total.

Additionally 20 people rededicated their lives to Jesus Christ and eight people became Christians during the visits to churches in Plateau, Cross River, Adamawa and Taraba states.

Volunteers visited seven churches, at each one preaching the gospel of grace, openness and love and then testing everyone who wanted to know their status.

In total 314 people were tested at these churches and just two were HIV positive. Almost 90 per cent joined the 25 new life sharing groups that have subsequently started meeting at these churches.

Group members are supporting each other through friendship, emotional encouragement, prayer and bible study. Those with HIV/ AIDS also receive practical care including laundry, cooking, housework, nursing and transport for hospital visits.

Another 76 people chose to be tested during the Lutheran conference, with just one person HIV positive.
