Our annual supporters meeting took place on 2 August in London. Mark Hopkins, our founder, shared some of the highlights of 2015. He told us that Grace & Light was doing a lot more than just test people for HIV.
Our second emphasis, social righteousness, is becoming increasingly important. At the recent in-house training for volunteers at our Jos HQ participants were excited to learn about how they could be salt and light in the world. One example of this was meetings we have been doing in secondary schools to talk to the students about sexual harassment.
At all our meetings the gospel message of the cross, forgiveness and new life is preached. Our goal is always to see people understanding and living out the Gospel. This is not the superficial Gospel that is often heard in churches, but a message which will touch every part of our lives and transform them.
Mark also shared a challenge to all our supporters to make it a matter of prayer to find one other person they could talk to about Grace & Light. The most effective ambassadors are those who already pray for us regularly. If you would like to read the letter we are sharing with our supporters, you can download it here.
